About Stockbridge Pipe Band

Stockbridge Pipe Band, Edinburgh is a community orientated pipe band, with three bands registered in Grades 3A, 4A and 4B of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.

The band practices on Monday evenings from 7:30-9:30pm at Elim Church in Morningside and Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30pm at St James Church on Inverleith Row.

Stockbridge Pipe Band was formed in 1994. The Band began competing at the Major Championships in 2006 and was promoted from G4B to G4A in 2008. In 2009 the Band was again promoted from G4A to G3B and at the beginning of 2010 formed a G4B Development Band. In 2013 the G3B band was promoted to G3A. And in 2019, we formed our latest addition to the family, the G4B band.

Our primary goals are:

  • to encourage the continued development of the Stockbridge Pipe Band, both musically and as an established community organisation within Stockbridge
  • to encourage the appreciation of Scottish music both locally and internationally
  • to provide a community focus and an opportunity for social interaction for all ages
  • to provide instruction to all ages in piping and drumming

Achievements:

Since the band began competing in 2006 we have won the following Championship titles:

  • Grade 4B British, European, World & Cowal Champions, 2008
  • Grade 4B Champion of Champions, Drum Corps and Band, 2008
  • Grade 4B Champion of Champions, Drum Corps 2010
  • Grade 3B Scottish Champions, Drum Corps and Band 2011
  • Grade 3B British Champions, Drum Corps 2013
  • Grade 3B European and Cowal Champions, Drum Corps and Band 2013
  • Grade 3B Champion of Champions, Drum Corps and Band 2013
  • Grade 3A European Champions, Drum Corps 2016
  • Grade 4B British Champions, Drum Corps 2018
  • Grade 3A World Champions, Drum Corps 2019
